I don't think this is a classic speedpath problem because raising the supply voltage does no good (both the desktop chip and the mobile chip can hit 500 MHz). Rather, its probably related to crosstalk and may require a complete relayout of the chip. Comments? Yes. I was actually going to post this earlier, but I have to admit that I don't know _nearly_ enough about the specifics to really evaluate the validity of my comments. Hopefully, one (or more) of the design/process people on the thread will step in and lay down the smack... What does Intel's demonstration of a LN2 cooled 1GHz P6 core say of the a) speed-paths? b) MHz 'wall'? Several web sites have recently achieved similar results (900+MHz) with more (but not completely) conventional cooling methods (I believe one of them was a Kryotech cooler). --fyodor
