Sam,
I now have a better understanding of your experience with the Babe Ruth program, and understand how it contributed (at least in part) to your frustration level.
TSIG got into it too late and did a very poor job of supporting it. Period. People/volunteers like yourself deserved better. If anyone out there believes customers don't vote with their feet, think again.
As asked before, how many different ways can we purchase a CDROM today. I asked Sam if he thought this was a logical or emotional sale, and he answered emotional. Absolutely correct! How many of you would buy into this just because of saving $1.50 on a CD? I can think of at least three other outlets where the price can be met or beaten.
It's the sizzle, folks, not the steak. Brand image and relentless great customer support. These are the standards, not the wish list. Without both, nobody comes through the door a second time. TSIG has to consistently demonstrate these traits, or it will not survive
The season championships are fast approaching and nobody wants to talk about fundraising. Maybe next year...
Was the Babe Ruth experience enough to kill the future of the company? Was it more like stopping at the Dairy Queen after the game with the kids and finding it closed, or finding it burned down?
Suzanne had a terrific post earlier today regarding the (potential)business opportunities that TSIG has lined up. What a great schedule. If this were a ball game, it's pretty safe to say that the tickets would be selling for more than $6 each.
If we compare TSIG to a baseball team, they really had a crappy spring training. But now it's time for the Show. The real season starts NOW. Will this team win more than it loses? I don't know. It requires hitting a lot of singles and not striking out swinging for the fences.
As was posted earlier, TSIG must start showing some small successes, or they will be getting a lot of called 3rd strikes. You don't practice after the game starts.
The price of a season ticket is pretty cheap and I'm committed to stay at least until the playoffs (November 23rd). If they win, I'll be buying season tickets for a long time. If they lose, for me the experience was worth the price of admission.
Sorry for the sports analogy, but it just seemed to be that type of day. And if anyone thinks I'm not serious about this, 142,000 shares of TSIG were added to my portfolio earlier today, and I still had money left over for lunch. That's where I'm headed right now. |
