I stumbled across VISX last night, and realized that I'd been dimly aware of LVC for a month or two. (Take that as an indication of LVC finally beginning to percolate down to the public consciousness, if you like.) Been doing some general reading this morning (including all of this thread and most of VISX thread) and I like the story. I will do more serious DD before I invest, but would appreciate leads from threaders as to where you all think I should look first. I'm looking for strong appreciation (two bagger at least) over 12 - 24 month timeline. Investing, not trading.

As I say, I'll do my own DD, but would much appreciate suggestions about where I should look first, and general reasons why.

I usually pick one or at most two market leaders, but in this case might be willing to go with a basket of stocks, or at least to make some sort of allocation between the equipment manufacturers and the service providers. (What is the thread's collective wisdom on the likelihood of VISX and BEAM to maintain effective barriers to entry? What's the likelihood of the equip being commoditized within the next couple of years and the royalties being reduced or eliminated?)

Very interested to know the strategies of the various investors on the thread.
