Frank,

I agree that no one has any guarantees but I disagree with your reasoning. IBM with all its wealth and R&D neither invented the PC nor was it able to keep it after it tacked onto the trend. Big wealthy companies are not typically a threat. Too much bureaucracy, inertia and plain lack of creativity. Why didn't these big companies become an Intel, Microsoft, Seagate, etc., etc., etc., etc. when they had the chance?

I've heard this reasoning forever, but it rarely happens!
