Check out "Strategic Investment"

Thanks for your reply, lama. As I mentioned in post #37, Strategic Investment reported in their Jan issue that there was indeed political turmoil happening in Kazakstan. If you're not familiar with Strategic Investment, it is written by James Davidson and Lord Rees-Mogg, authors of "The Great Reckoning". Although their stock picks have been less than stellar lately, their international intelligence bulletins and political analysis have been excellent. They were reporting problems in Chechnya before the west had even heard of it.

I am interested in KGFC but the lack of information on the current state of affairs is making completion of my due diligence difficult. If you have a URL where I can find CURRENT reports of Kazak affairs, I would be appreciative. I have done numerous searches, but cannot find anything of significance more recent than Jun 96.

If you think that the 0.45 low is not related to the political situation, take a look at Kazakhstan Minerals Corporation (KMC.U) on the TSE. It is currently trading at $2.75, off of its 52 wk high of over $14. This despite having last summer strong buy recommendations by Crisis Investing, Strategic Investment, Yorkton Securities and a few other brokerages. While I don't think Kazakstan is going to fall to pieces, there may events that will cause further price dips and the chance to accumulate. THAT is why I'm trying to find a source of current info.

Good Luck.
