You were trying to claim that reading the Bible in classrooms was Ok because it was just like reading the Iliad. Now you've just admitted it isn't. Which is it?

As Barb said, you want to have your cake and eat it too. The Bible doesn't mean anything so it can be studied just like the Iliad. But it has a "more integral identity" in our society so it deserves special treatment.

The state shouldn't promote atheism or agnosticism because that violates separation. But it's OK to quote the Bible in public schools because that doesn't violate separation...somehow.
