Where I worked before I heard a lot of pagans talking about Christ. Jesus Christ this and Jesus Christ that, but I think people have always regarded the name of God lightly -- One of them -- still a buddy of mine would always say exceuse my french -- I don't know that the french are any worse blasphemers than the rest -- his feeling the need to say that speaks for itself, doesn't it?

In the Wed night Bible class I visited -- we talked about Jesus calming the storm -- the fellow leading the discussion asked about other instances where God changed the natural order of things --
one was when Hezekiah wanted a sign that his life would be extended and one was when there was a battle and as long as Moses' (?) hand was held up Israel prevailed ---

I wonder about the other boats that were on the sea when Jesus calmed the storm -- they must have been astounded. I think we are approaching the days when everyone will similarly be expecting things to continue just as they have been but will instead be confronted with dramatic unimaginable changes -- of course the return of Christ will be it -- the topper.

I don't know that it is happening in my lifetime, but I think of the passage in II Peter -- everythings the same as it was and always was -- what's new -- so easy to lethargic and not be watchful, but we both now Jesus is coming back. It could be tomorrow for all we know.

Amish are very nice -- the older ones seem more evangelistic, but they feel the need to remain separate in some regards -- it has made me think a lot about my life -- how are we to be separate from the world? We are called out yet live in the world, but must not adopt its practices or be attached to it.
