Stan,

Trust me on this.....they don't have certificates sitting there in your account with your name on them. They credited your account (a simple journal procedure) with the shares in street name!!!!!!!

Just three days ago, I drove over to a local Fidelity Investments office with some stock certificates to deposit the shares back into one of my accounts. Guess what.....I had to sign the back of the certificates so they could be converted back to street name in my account!

This is not a case of me holding my certificates (with my name on them) at my house or in their safes. If I want to have shares in my Fidelity account they must be in street name!

Sorry to be so redundant....just trying to emphasize my points.
