Last week I tried to short a stock and after about a 1/2 hour of not getting filled, I canceled the order. I placed several other orders during the day and when I checked the 'view orders' page, the new orders show up as filled and the canceled order shows up as canceled. Now, a week later, I go to my holdings page and find that I got filled on my short, but it still doesn't show up on my 'view orders' page. Nice huh? I call Discover and they say 'according to the SEC rules, we are only required to mail you confirmation of trades and sometimes our website doesn't get updated'. So basically, we screwed up, but you're going to pay for it. I'll be moving my accounts elsewhere. PA You of all people should have known about shorting! Roy
