Further, I respectfully disagree that there is a public religious ethic in this country.

I respectfully disagree with Patrick Henry that it is the duty of any non-Christian to practice "Christian forbearance, love and charity."

I am not going to tolerate it, Michael. I don't care how nice you are, you are not going to shove it down my throat. I've been watching this develop for years, now. I'm conservative, but I am also Libertarian, and I've watched the Republican party get eaten away by the Religious Right. Come visit me in Fairfax, and I'll introduce you to orderly, civil, responsible people who are not and never will be Christian. Some of them belong to religions that were orderly and civil and respectful of other's rights before Christ were born. Some of them respect Christ, but simply do not believe he is the Son of God. I will fight for their right not to be forced to give obeisance to another religion. This is one fight I won't back down from.
