One item that you learn by not being first in the pool is you have a reasonable grasp on demand for sizing servers, etc. If you're alert [and I'm sure there is no problem in that respect] you get to observe the mistakes of everyone else and avoid the pitfalls. The third advantage is you get to wait until the early adopters are done and the segment is moving into hypergrowth [or at least until the obtainable market is large enough].
