Sorry folks for the oversight. The new link for the thread is:

Subject 28984

I hope we will have a honest, free and civilized discussion on the thread. The thread,I hope will provide us with a forum for discussion of what needs to be done to ensure all well-intentioned people have a chance to speak, ask questions, and seek opinions without fear of another person chastizing, humiliating, or criticizing the integrity of any person who wishes to share what they have to say.

We, the investors of the discussion boards, are here for one primary reason: to discuss investment ideas and exchange information relevant to making educated decisions. We must seek to find those companies which give us the best financial return with the highest degree of sustainability.

There is no sure way to predict what company will dominate the "race" for future supremacy. There are constantly new products, new companies, new technologies which will change the way people conduct business and live their lives. The only constant in our lives is CHANGE.

One sure thing, however, is that some companies will take advantage of their competitive environment better than others. Some companies will grow faster than others. Some companies will be more innovative than others. This also leads to variations in financial performance... hence the effect on stock price.

People must keep in mind that we must understand TRENDS... that is, keep an eye-out for companies developing products/technologies which will fundamentally change the way we live, interact, do business, and enjoy our free time. We must invest in such companies. We must invest in the LEADERS of their respective fields (in growth industries, not ones in mature/declining industries). And we must look for strong corporate leadership. Is the CEO an effective leader and visionary? Does he/she see a way to differentiate the company from the others and provide shareholders maximum value?

The purpose of these boards is NOT merely to have other people who hold your stock -- constantly reassuring you that your decision to invest in a certain company is correct. It should be a forum to discuss ideas and events that are relevant to the growth and financial success of a firm.... This should be the reason we are on the discussion boards in the first place! We need information to help us decide what investment decisions to make... and whether we need to make adjustments. Nobody knows all the answers. We must exchange ideas and debate their relevance to the present situation. That is the job of a CEO as well.

It is always healthy to know the opinions of others who do not feel the same way. If everybody was born with all the knowledge in the universe, then why do we go to school for so many years in our life? Obviously, we have lots to learn from each other.

Let us engage in friendly, insightful, and open-minded discussion... whether it's pro-"our stock" or not. It will only increase our knowledge base upon which to make better informed and accurate decisions.

And lastly, we should make sure that hypsters not utilize this board to "push" their ideas. Share but don't push since pushing something is adopting the tactics employed by Goebbels who was Hitler minister of information during WWII.
