V. <has anyone considered that the option for members to turn off ads might be forthcoming? I am only speculating, but I don't think that SI is the money-grubbing, promise-breaking group that they're being portrayed by many to be tonight>

Made the Snerdman chuckle. <gg> The bottom line here will be the click-through tally at the end of next month. If enough people are clicking to view the ad, you can bet your arse it will stay, and probably more will be added. Advertising dollars are a powerful influencer of personality change. An option to turn off their means of income?! C'mon, get for real! <lol> As I see it, they can either go ahead with this ad campaign, or raise membership fees. I payed money to join SI for an ad-free board, guess I would pay a bit more to keep it that way.

<We might all be very surprised to learn that much time complaining has been wasted as the wheels are and were always turning>

You bet the wheels are turning. A company has to generate income to grow, and SI is no different than any other company. Nothing against Brad or any other SI employee, they just happen to be the only point-of-contact people here. So they catch it. However, I joined SI for an ad-free discussion board, not to become friends with it's employees. And btw, we paid for the right to whine. <g>

imho
