Hi All,
I found this interesting although slightly OT: FWIW

I) LEGAL?

Yes, it's legal to play at Casares.com. When you access our site you are contracting services from our company in Gibraltar. The laws that govern the transaction are laws established by the Government of Gibraltar.

Many of you have probably heard about the Kyl Bill. The Kyl Bill is a proposed anti-gambling legislation sponsored by Senator Jon Kyl. The bill is based on the Federal Interstate Wireline Act from 1961, which states that it is currently illegal to offer online wagering by the Internet in the US. The Interstate Wireline Act bans gambling operations from remote locations unless states specifically permit it. The Interstate Wireline Act forbids interstate gambling over the telephone or other wired devices but not the Internet by name. No US court has ruled that the Wire Act includes the Internet to this date. In layman's terms, this means you can't legally run a web server that resides in the US and offer gambling from that application server over the Internet. That is not a problem with Casares.com. All our servers are located in Gibraltar and we obey by the rules from the Government of Gibraltar.

The Kyl bill was passed through the Senate and on July 23, 1998, but before a bill becomes a law it still needs to be passed by the House of Representatives and signed by the President. This has not happened yet, and this year's version of the Kyl bill is a lot "lighter" than last year. Political experts say it is not very likely that this bill will go as far as the one last year.

Casares.com will of course continue to follow up on the Kyl bill and let you know if anything changes. Until then remember that it is legal to play at Casares.com and you are not breaking any laws while playing.
