Art,
You said, "I bought my daughter 10 shares of Berkshire Hathaway in 1981, for $295 per share. Now selling above $70,000 per share."
I hope what I did works out the same. I just gave SNDK shares to each of my 4 children.
Just curious, going back to 1981, the only thing I think I remember about Berkshire was that they made shirts. Is that right? If so, did you have some special information to indicate that BH would perform so well, or did luck play some part in your daughter's good fortune? Of course, the bottom line doesn't care.
SNDK conceivably could perform in a similar manner, but I like to compare it to Polaroid. That is, SNDK is NOT diversified. If things go well, they can go VERY well.
I have a question concerning the tax implications of SNDK calls that I hold, but I'll save that for another message.
Cheers (especially for today $38.75)
