<Lt. Col. Paul Avella, manager of Y2K Flag, said no surprises have been found in the four-day exercise, which ended Thursday ... Two F-15s participating in the Y2K Flag were injured, neither seriously, when their planes crashed Tuesday.>
Duh ... they anticipated problems with those two F-15s. So it was no surprise????
<Two F-15s ... were injured ...>
What in the h*ll does "injured" mean anyway???? Wonder how many F-15's were involved with this exercise. Two?
<For three years, the Defense Department has been preparing for any computer glitches that might be encountered at the turn of the century ...
Three years???? LOL - No one even realized there was a problem with embedded systems until early '97 when someone from Shell, working on North Sea rigs ... investigated on his own. How, pray tell, has DOD been working on something they knew nothing about, especially when NOTHING was budgeted?
FYI - In late '97 someone sent me an email with an attachment. When I opened it up, the first thing that I saw was DOD logo. It was one of their first drafts on addressing Y2K.
<U.S military aircraft will be Y2K compliant and will be able to ''fly, fight and win on Jan. 1 and beyond,''>
I can't believe this "feel happy" B.S.
I'M DISGUSTED.
