Thank you for the link, and I think SUN's KVM could benefit WRS greatly. KVM is a slimmed down JVM. The size of JVM has always been the problem for embedded devices. Without any detailed knowledge, I can't predict if KVM will bring Java to embedded market, but this is certainly a move in the right direction. I am glad that SUN is finally understanding the market.

In practical terms, Sun is sending the message that it will tailor Java for different users, rather than maintain one-size-fits-all specs. "It's more appropriate for us to do industry-specific profiles, rather than horizontal segments," said Mike Clary, the recently named head of Sun's consumer and embedded group. Long-term, that approach could be the death knell for broadly targeted specs such as PersonalJava.
