With a flurry of activity restricting margin on Internet stocks, they are trying to pre-empt the anticipated run up in Internet stocks and also the daytrades. I have a very mixed feeling on that move of theirs. But the good thing is that by their action they are implicitly acknowledging that the Internets are poised for a take-off during the impending summer rally.

In the face of margin restrictions, the question now arises which sector will see a outflow of money to enable the inflow into the Internets. INTC got downgraded, SEMIs (semiconductor equipment manufacturers) have not received a resounding upgrade and in my opinion investors may pull their money out from there to make a quick buck or two in the Internets. Interesting situation brewing in the markets. We just have to wait and see.
