Good job! I'm glad to see several of you long-termers finally seeing the light.

Iomega has no strategy. They have given up making ZIP the standard, and proven that the razor blade strategy is a failure. They now are flooding the market with products, hoping one will be a hit. CD-RW is a very bad idea for them. The media is cheap, and sold by a multitude of vendors. Same with the drive. Iomega's brand name is worth much less than they (or the shareholders) believe. Would you rather buy a HP branded CD-RW or Iomega? Who would an OEM rather deal with?

Contrary to bullish opinion (which is no more than baseless, dataless hype anyway), Iomega has a bad reliability stigma among techies. The ZIP is a toy. No more. Jaz is gone. It has serious problems, none of which was discussed on this thread.

OPINION:

The bulls got sucked in by hype, and didn't do an iota of research. They blindly followed the Motley Fool and other cheerleaders. When several of us tried to point out flaws in this obviously shoddy due diligence, personal attacks ensued instead of spirited debate. The bulls never presented substance, only dreams based on some other reality. Hopefully, some of you will learn something from this, and make a ton of money in the stock market. The first step is realizing that it was YOUR FAULT, not Rocky's, Herb's, or any other bear's (or bull's!) fault. Some will not make this important step, and be stuck buying garbage forever. Too bad! I had to make this same step 2 years ago... I'm now a 'recovering stockaholic'.

I know you guys will take this as one more arrogant post from a 'you know what' (check Mike M's last post to me), but I don't care. Take my observations or leave them, it means nothing to me. Some will stay losers forever, always blaming others.

Bye! I'll be back after the demise is complete. There is really no more to say. Sorry I came back so soon after last time (one week), but the news did warrant some comment. This pre-announce was a BIGGY.
