Do you have a comprehension problem? My post was about how faith offers solace because it deludes people into believing that there is a grand plan, that dead children are in a better place, etc.

What does that have to do with Matthew Shepherd's death? You are mixing up apples and oranges here. If people who were grieving at his death believed that there was a grand plan, that he was in a better place, that Jesus was watching over him and this comforted them so they didn't feel their anger and grief, then they are in the same place the Christians at that teenager's funeral were. But I think you are going somewhere else with your argument. Why do you keep mentioning Matthew Shepherd? Surely you are not going to use him as any kind of example of Christians being higher specimens of life, since it is Christian-promulgated homophobia that causes the violent deaths of gay people in this country.
