The police in this country outgun anybody except the mobilized army and/or Marines. Their claims to the contrary are bald-faced and distressingly effective propaganda. So when they go on the tube and yammer about how they are being outgunned, I am inclined to think that they are pursuing their agenda with the same regard for advantage as any politician. After all - what police chief is immune to the seductive idea of disarming his charges - the citizenry? Makes his life easier. And we are a country who will spare no effort to achieve the convenient. :-)

As for the armor-piercing argument - neither nihil nor I disposed of it scientifically. I submit that you liked the sound of his argument better because it gores my ox and not yours. Bwdik!!

Taht is SUCH a loaded sentence. It probably exceeds the ten-round limit! You arer certainly entitled to define "assault weapons" to suit your preferences, but imho that does not make it so. Assault weapons are military devices and as such are not available, haven't been for over thirty years, to ordinary gun shoppers.
As for the NRA - some of the stuff they say disgusts me. But they are the only game in town that provides a credible defense against the gun control freaks. So I have great sympathy for their primary cause - even as I'm appalled at their impressive string of marketing gaffes.

And Charlton is SUCH a stud!!!
