Susan, I also use Fidelity and they require 80% on CMGI.. 80% on all internet stocks..

I have Fidelity too and really resent that.

They are picking stocks for you.

If you ask about IBM or AT&T, and they say you can have tons of money (margin below 50%).

Ask about ATHM or CMGI and you get the almost no money (eventhough T almost owns ATHM).

Whatever the policy, it should be the same for everybody.

I solved the problem. I moved to Dreyfus.

Rates are cheaper (flat rates for options too). They tell me to watch my margins carefully, but they treat me like a adult and let me do my own investing.

Having said all that, I usually remain at 80+%. It really helped recently. I dropped from 85% to 68% in the recent sell off. Now it will go back up.
