If you're going to attack people for lies, at least learn what the truth is.

I did not call Christine sick. I called one thing she said sick. There IS a difference. And my opinion was (and is) that what she said WAS sick. In case you want to see for yourself whether my opinion had any basis in fact, here's the post:

(However, Christine did in fact call me mentally ill. Several times. So far that hasn't seemed to bother anybody. I haven't seen anybody posting to her suggesting that that was an improper flame. Perhaps this is a girls-defending-girls thing.)

On taking joy from somebody's pain, I think the bottom line that Christine and I both came down to is that there are certain people we would not object to seeing in pain, and would even take certain pleasure from. Probably different people, but each of us would have our candidates. (I freely admit if somebody ever raped and killed one of my daughters I would take great pleasure from watching them die in the most horrible pain possible. Make what you will of that.)

As to the calling her "not important," yes, I did. In a context.

After CGB called me paranoid, LRR posted to me:"Hey, did you hear about the paranoiac with low self-esteem?
Seems that Nobody Important was out to get him! :-)"

To which I replied
"Well, that would fit us. CGB is certainly nobody important."

In the context of people being out to get someone, is CBG "Somebody Important"? I guess that's more a matter of opinion than fact. Maybe she has the ear of the President, or of the head of a lunatic asylum. But in the context, the response clearly meant simply that I didn't think her think me paranoid was worth much.

So. By my definition, a lie is a fact (not an opinion -- a false opinion cannot be a lie) provably untrue within its context.

I submit that nothing I said is a lie.
