Ref: Compag LS-120.

Tony, there is an old Chinese saying: "If you know your enemy and
you know your yourself, you will win every war." Here lies the reasons
why I believe IOMG will crush all potential competitions.

There is one thing about Iomega that is very clear: They know what
the consumers want, they know their competitors' weaknesses, and
they know their own strengths.

All the following points concerning Compag LS-120 are according
to Kim Edwards. He spoke of these a few times, but I personally hear
him said them on CNBC 's Squawkbox:

1. IOMG owns the patent on the LS-120 technology. IOMG sold the
technology to Compag because it is "too complex and expensive"
vs. current Zip drives and disks. The LS-120 technology is not
competitive on price/performance vs. Zip - that 's why IOMG sold it.
(LS-120 is 40% slower than zip, but cost of mass production is
much higher than Zip.)

2. On CNBC, KE said that's IOMG still has all the rights to the LS-120
technology. And he subtly suggested that IOMG can make the LS-120
to compete directly with Compag if they so choose.

Based on what I know about the LS-120 technology, it can not compete
and profit with $200 Zip and $15 Zip disk. There is no way that the
LS-120 can compete with a $99 Zip and $5 Zip disks in the future.

The main reason for my optimism though, is that IOMG know their
competitors. They know that Compag is in the PC and network
server business, not in the drive business. They will win this war, if
there will be one.
