The annual report is out, and included is the proxy to vote on the Board of Directors. As most know, I am a very long advocate of BTIM, the shorts argument about potential sales and revenue is growing weaker with each passing day. Abt will roll out the product late this month, early next month, advertising (ABT) will commence, the london trials are nearing completion, Barkin has been spending a great deal of time in Europe, and the pipeline is shaping up beautifully.
However, BTIM has imo (and many other longs) totally ignorned the whole issue of Investor Relations and Public Relations.. (if you doubt this, take a gander over to yahoo board). We have called, emailed, complained.. we all know that some of the BTIM insiders read the yahoo board so they know about our discontent.. however, they have not done anything to get their story out. They think that ABT will do the PR for BTIM.. but abt will only manufacture and sell Hextend.. Abt is not BTIM's pr firm. Therefore, we are taking it to the annual meeting. The only way our grievances about pr might be heard and acknowledged is by voting our proxies. Most of us are voting the entire board out. Now, we know that this won't work, and actually, it is not our intention to get rid of them.. however, they have been so arrogant about dealing with our concerns, that this is the only way we can send a message to them. Please DO NOT throw your proxies out. If you are unhappy with the way BTIM has handled Public Relations, then please vote your discontent. This is our chance to prove to BTIM that we mean business, that we want them to start paying attention to public relations, and not just stick their heads in the sand and focus on R&D. It is time that they grew up and acted like a well managed public company. Their science is great. Without a doubt. Management needs a wake up call about public relations.
