Australia is at it again

We've heard about 'net gaming being legalized in Australia for quite some time. More specifically, we've heard about 'net gambling being legalized by the Queensland government in Australia. And earlier this month, it finally happened as a company called GOCORP received an Internet gaming license from the Queensland government. As the company's website explains, the company "will achieve leadership by aggressively marketing the most innovative and exciting games, backed by regulation and responsibility."

The site goes on to explain that it will provide Internet versions of casino games to its customers such as roulette or blackjack, for real money. The site claims to offer secure online gaming with proven software products, sanctioned and regulated by a stable "First World Government" and also claims the company's principals have been cooperating closely with the Queensland Government on the development of Internet gaming since 1994. The site does not, however, make mention to whether or not it will accept bets from US residents. But one has to assume it will.

It's sure nice to see the word regulation being used by a company licensed in a *real* county

With Australia's Lasseters casino already making waves in the 'net gaming industry, it's safe to assume that GOCORP'S online casino will be a major player in the global interactive gaming market.

Heck, we (and the AGA's Frank Fahrenkopf?) sure hope so.
