Just a little at a time. Slowly, silently, ease 'em on in, steady as she goes there, mate. No one will even notice. Even if they do, why, it's not a "banner" ad, its just a "link".

Word games and double-speak! I paid money to join SI because there were NO advertisements. Call them ads, solicitations, whatever you will, but the "spirit" of the paid membership was "no advertisements." And this is an advertisement, plain and simple. I have to agree with Mr K., it alarms me that a soliciting brokerage firm may have information on me from my postings on SI, or directly from SI management itself, in any way, shape, or form.

Some say that we who are complaining are in the minority. It still amazes me that, like the majority of the American population, so many here are perfectly willing to accept whatever is forced upon them without so much as a whimper. We're taught from an early age now that "compromise" is the only answer. Diplomacy, and the like. Well, hopefully each and every one of us has a few issues that we simply cannot compromise for the sake of peace and tranquility. It's not a top-of-the-list issue for me, however, I will state my displeasure over the fact that I paid money to join an ad-free board, and now I'm seeing ads on it.
