Paul, The K7 took AMD quite a long time to design and they are still a LONG WAY from manufacturing it ! Horrible. Just horrible. Even Merced - designed completely from the ground up - only took ABOUT 5 years to design - including complete definition of the EPIC architecture. Fry's is having a blowout sale on Merced systems this weekend. Scumbria
