Well, I suppose if you get to define religion any you want to, you can say that. But I think you will find everybody else defines communism as a political system, not a religion. And I doubt you will find any dictionary definition of "religion" which encompasses communism.

Nonetheless, Chris, particularly in the early years, its adherents treated communism as a religion. In fact, it is quite interesting to consider how Lenin used the intenseness of religion in Russia--and the cult of the tsar as the little father--psychologically to root communism.
