what is the definition of a shiny pebble?

I think I coined this, Jason, and Frank picked up on it. I used it as an example of a little tech co with a new "whiz Bang" that looks good, but is still in the startup, small cap, growth phrase and can burn you. For instance, we are always hearing about a startup company with a new router that is going to knock off Cisco. I used to buy stock in these types of companies when I started out. We are constantly going through new posts on companies of these types, and trying to sort out the "Shiny Pebbles" from the "Baby Gorillas"

I got 'Shiny Pebbles" from Isaac Newton, who said:

"When I think of what I have learned, I feel like a small boy, walking along a beach picking up shiny pebbles, while a whole ocean of knowledge lies before me."
