The differentiation is easy in this case:

1. WCOM did not just touch the upper BB. It has started surfing three days in a roll now.

2. WCOM has not been able to break the $93-94 area since March. It did that successfully on Friday with the largest volume in 1 1/2 months.

3. BB works best in a trading range market or stock but not when a stock is breaking out. The reverse is equally true.
