Hi Ish, I love contemplating the idea of school teachers teaching comparative religion in grammar school, starting with say, Gilgamesh, then say, Lao-Tse, the Bhagavad-Gita, some Shinto, Buddhism, Zororastrianism, the Stoics, Greek, Roman and Norse myths and legends for the first semester, then for the second semester we could do the Jews, the Christians, Islam, then African and American Indian religions.
Maybe if the kids knew that people all over the world believe that it is wrong to kill, steal and commit perjury, they might be persuaded that it's a good idea, as well as the law. |
