Saddam Among Richest Leaders
NEW YORK (AP) -- Saddam Hussein is worth more than Queen Elizabeth, according to Forbes' list of billionaires.
The Iraqi leader, with an estimated wealth of $6 billion, is No. 7 on the magazine's list of ''The Nonworking Rich: Kings, Queens and Dictators,'' a companion to its annual ranking of the world's wealthiest people. The British queen is No. 10.
The magazine, which released the list Sunday, attributed Hussein's wealth to oil and to an alleged smuggling operation controlled by his son Odai.
Hussein has appeared on Forbes' richest heads of state list since the magazine began compiling it two years ago. The list is headed by the Sultan of Brunei, and includes rulers from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Dubai, Holland's Queen Beatrix, Qatar, Syria and lastly, Queen Elizabeth.
Forbes estimates the queen of England's worth at $450 million or $16 billion, depending on whether the Royal Collection of crown jewels is counted.

Saddam Hussein estimated wealth should be over $10 billion, to me that's a more accurate prediction. |
