Ian, thanks for that but there's still a few things I don't understand. First, how much would a 12" wafer with the conceived maximum number of layers weigh? If it's too heavy for one person, why not use two and transport it between stations on a cart? Move to S.E. Asia or Canada or someplace if local labor costs dictate? It just seems to me that there has to be a more compelling driver than labor and associated insurance costs.

I wasn't aware of the indirect competitive threat from ASYT. It sounds like an ingenious solution to the air purity problem. How do they seal and unseal the wafer for the station to station move, or does it not matter because of pre cleaning procedures at each station? Obviously, some DD on my part is in order.
