Well, I don't believe Dell is addressing any one company. What (he is addressing) is the potential threat to his computer box business with the idea that TV will replace the computer. I agree with Dell! I think that what Internet-over-tv offers is another consumer product that will be attractive to a lot of people, but it will not displace a computer. The TV is for reactive-types, where the computer is for pro-active types. Steve Jobs said the same thing! This is not a earth shattering concept. I can guarantee you one thing, families are buying this product, why? because they are not going to spend $1000 to outfit every room for the internet via a computer when the TV aleady is in these rooms. Also, lower income families that want to send Grandma in sunny Florida e-mail to stay in contact are going to want this "toy". Email is a powerful app, anything that can deliver it conveniently for a family (whether it is thru the computer, or tv) will be used.
