The uptrend and downtrend definition becomes the guiding principle - and everything we do is geared to staying out of choppy markets, and looking for emerging trends. And when on comes, we buy every dip on the way up or sell every rally on the way down. We always set up the Trader Vic 1-2-3 lines for every rally/dip, just in case it's the turn. It works for me anyway.
