LSI Logic Introduces Fibre Channel and Ultra3 SCSI Storage
I/O Solutions for the 21st Century

MILPITAS, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In two separate announcements today, LSI
Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) introduced a wide range of Fibre Channel and Ultra3 SCSI
I/O solutions to support the demands of 21st Century storage architectures. LSI Logic's rich
portfolio of intellectual property and system expertise, combined with its standard product and
peripheral technologies, strongly positions the company to meet the requirements of faster
speeds, increasing bandwidths and shrinking product design cycles of the next millennium.

"Storage architectures for the 21st Century will demand more variety and more deployment
options than those that were previously acceptable," said Bill Wuertz, vice president and
general manager, LSI Logic Storage Components Division. "Our customers are enjoying the
benefit of our impressive intellectual property offerings in both Fibre Channel and SCSI
technology to meet their evolving storage requirements."

To handle the increased demand for networked storage and cluster resources also known as
Storage Area Networks (SANs), LSI Logic introduced three new high-performance
cost-effective Fibre Channel solutions. The newly introduced PCI Fibre Channel SAN
architected controller provides an ideal motherboard solution, while the companion PCI Fibre
Channel host adapter boards (HAB) are available for system designers with a critical need to
shorten time to market.

LSI Logic also introduced a new portfolio of solutions for customers looking for a seamless
migration path to Ultra3 SCSI. A host controller with an enhanced feature set, an industry
leading bus expander and two new host adapter boards provide a comprehensive Ultra3
offering for next generation desktop, workstation and server systems.

"Our strength in the global storage markets comes from our leading edge process technology,
global manufacturing facilities, and system engineering expertise," said Bruce Entin, vice
president, Worldwide Marketing, LSI Logic Corporation. "We provide solutions to customers
around the world that range from ASIC cores to protocol chips and HABS to RAID
controllers and subsytems." LSI Logic Company Background lsilogic.com
