imo, Mavica w/floppy will go away within 2 years. My girlfriend has one, and you're correct in saying that it's currently acceptable technology. Takes decent pictures, good for viewing over the web, etc. However, as better camera's (coolpix 950) come down in price, quality will matter and mavica will not compare. The current mavica is bound by the floppy drive limitations. The form factor is also limited by this format. IMO, it's bulky and ugly. I'd also have to admit that from my last visit to Frys, most other d-cameras are pretty ugly and cheap looking as well.
