my point is that it has peaked, due to Goldman Sach's banking sector analyst downgrading the sector because of y2k earnings hit. while not perfect, the stockmarket overall tries to anticipate/discount/telegraph economic conditions 6 months in advance.

check out the 5 yr chart from your same site. that is a triple top.
