My momma used to raise orphan animals in MD. She was an Audubon volunteer. Mostly birds and squirrels and possums - but her specialty was raccoons. We all pitched in and bottle-fed them and cleaned the cages and stuff. An adolescent coon gets quite feisty - an excellent signal for when it's ready for release.
