TORRANCE, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Summa Industries (Nasdaq: SUMX - news) reports earnings from continuing operations of $1,880,000, or $.42 per share, on sales of $30,203,000 for the three months ended May 31, 1999 vs. earnings from continuing operations of $1,334,000, or $.30 per share, on sales of $23,854,000 for the three
months ended May 31, 1998. Same business third quarter sales were 4% higher than in the prior year third quarter. Reported earnings for the third quarter are after non-recurring charges related to the acquisition of assets of Plastron Industries, L.P. of $.02 per share. |
