First of all, you do NOT use the stuff you find in the supermarket....like RICELAND, or any of those name brands...

It is a short grain, the brand name is Botan.
Some stores have it.

We call it "sticky rice!"

I'll get the real recipe....

What you have to do is wash the rice in several washes of water(till it runs clear)

When you boil the rice, you can stick a small piece of kelp(seaweed) in it up till the water boils, but my mother doesn't do that I think...

The secret ingredients...salt, sugar and rice vinegar....
