Franks Friendly Tavern on Apache Blvd. is only a memory now, with its "Coaches Corner" and miniature bowling alley. It was torn down several years ago. Sic transit tavernae mundi. It was a great spot where jocks, professors, construction workers, white collar workers, and graduate students could hang out and rub elbows in an atmosphere of grungy, beery, camaraderie.
