Disappointment -- I thought the link would be to Crocodile art.

The summer when I was 17 (don't even ask how long ago!) I spent a week playing in an orchestra in Southern England. After the last concert of the series some mates and I were too keyed up to go to sleep, so around midnight we piled into one of the guys' Minis and took off for Stonehenge. Got there around 1 or 2, almost full moonlight with intermittent clouds throwing shadows. Climbed over the low fence that was all that protected it then and wandered into and around the stones. After a while as the pull of the place got stronger and stronger we found ourselves sitting in a circle in the center of the stones in what I can only describe as a powerful mystical experience. But truly indescribable. There was power there that was beyond the human understanding. Far predating anything Christian and perhaps anything Jewish. Both awesomely inspiring and frightening.

It is one of those nights I will never forget.

Your pictures brought it vividly back over these many decades.

Thank you.
