"The Internet Sucker's Index, on the other hand, includes the likes of Go2Net (GNET:Nasdaq) (23 employees) and numerous other equally forgettable operations, giving jobs to a mere 25,000 people, and producing, with the exception of America Online and eBay (EBAY:Nasdaq), no profits at all."

The actual employee number was about 70 at the time. I'm referencing the past here not to take a jab at Chris Byron (he's a good guy and subsequent emails with him patched things up a bit) but to lend some perspective to the uphill battle Go2Net has fought with the media and much larger competitors.

Stock chart of what Go2Net has done since we were called a "forgettable" company.
