Sarmad: Clearly they are flooding the market with yen to keep its value down. They see no reason not to, and you are saying they are right. They say it is not inflationary because Japan is in a deflationary spiral. Lets see, the US has been flooding the
market with dollars and now Japan is flooding the market at a much higher rate than money growth in the US to keep the yen below the value of the now-plentiful dollar -- but no worries because prices are declining -- right? See a problem there? One alternative would be to raise US interest rates to take the pressure off the yen -- hmmmm -- three quarter point hikes would help there. And if Japanese rates are going up also, well, maybe it will be five hikes. This is what the market could start to smell in a couple of weeks.
