Actually not. DRDRAM is a great technology for graphics adapters. The reason is that deep graphics pipelines require very high bandwidth. Latency is not a concern because it is possible to look ahead in the pipeline and make sure the data is there when you need it.

In addition, the narrow data path to DRDRAM allows for multiple channels (busses), thus avoiding contention. There will be lots of hot graphics designs in the next few years utilizing similar technology.

The remarks about low latency are incorrect, but also irrelevant.
