Bill: I too have been lurking over here. I totally agree with your theory that a stock makes it in it's own time. I've seen it happen too frequently to debate your conclusions. Like you, I've learned to ignore ruts in certain stocks.
RDIM is once again looking interesting to me. IMO, RDIM has always had the potential to be a "break-out" stock. If you twisted my arm and forced me to bet on it, I'd guess that RDIM will take off again, and soon. How long and how high?..I have no idea, however, a quick 40-60% one-day jump in this stock from its current levels would not surprise me - even devoid of news to support it - or justify it. Such motion (up or down) often seems to occur in the total absence of a supporting reality - but nothing of magnitude ever happens without some justification, even if the causes remain an enigma. If another no-news breakout does occur, the sixty four dollar question will be whether or not RDIM can sustain itself at a $.75-1.00 level while waiting on positive news to catch up. Obviously, the stock has been above a buck before, so anything over three bits would put it in reach of a retest, and hopefully make it a little easier to hold its plateau. Personally, I don't know whether RDIM will ever explode to the $20-30 dollar performance range of some similar companies in their sector. While RDIM appears to have a strong niche business, I simply don't know how that translates in real dollars. However, I do believe that the odds of RDIM reaching $2 dollars a share this year are not unreasonable nor remote, and certainly would not require a pie-in-the-sky performance from the company. Now that the stock price has formed a strong and long base at $.40-.50 cents, RDIM appears (to me) to be a better bet to go up then down - probably as good a bet as any stock that I'm currently monitoring. My conclusion is that for anyone buying in at these levels for the first time, a double would be a very attainable, and nice profit - and a double would still place the price well below the stock's tested highs. I think I just talked myself into some shares, again. Back to lurking - it's safer.
