The swallow's nest is built out of bird spit. Even cats have some standards.
My German short-har Graf used to patrol the farm and dig out and assassinate the groundhogs (when I hadn't shot them). He killed rats, and water snakes, and weasels, and tried big 18" snapping turtles (I had to rescue him more than once). He would chase rabbits who tried to run. But cats who turned and raised their paws he would hold a point until I released him and he would run them off. He'd point (6") a nest of baby bunnies (who instinctively sit and hold). Come when he was called off, and I never saw him kill a baby bunny. Bunnies have learned how to survive among wolves and coyotes. The does bounce off and lead the the wolves on a merry chase.
