GST,

Could there be a reason why the flooding of the market with both the dollar and the yen still fails to push inflation up, either nationally or internationally? Could it be because on the supply side capacity utilization worldwide is still far from full and on the demand side other than the American consumer all pocketbooks are shut tight (for myriad reasons)? The yen should weaken now that the Japanese trade surplus is shrinking, period. That has nothing to do with US interest rates.
